DR. JOHANNES ROTH, MD PHD FRCPC RHMSUS

Prof.Dr.med. Johannes Roth has been a pediatric rheumatologist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) since 2007. A graduate of the University of Tubingen in Germany, he completed his pediatric residency and pediatric rheumatology fellowship in Tubingen and subsequently worked at the Charité in Berlin before coming to Canada. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa and the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Dermatology and Rheumatology at CHEO. He is very active in research and education on pediatric musculoskeletal ultrasound nationally and internationally. A major focus has been on the assessment of normal sonoanatomy in children as well as pathology in the context of pediatric rheumatic diseases. Johannes Roth was a co-founder and first president of the Canadian Rheumatology Ultrasound Society (CRUS) and has issued educational resources both for pediatric rheumatology as chair of Ped-MUS (https://www.ped-mus.com) and for CRUS (https://crus-surc.ca/educational-resources/).
